A lasting first impression

“My story is before I was even an Ole. When I was touring schools as a high school student, I visited a fair number of similar schools and they all had interesting programs, nice campuses, and would have been fine places to spend four years. My experience at St. Olaf was just different. I came on campus that first time, and we parked in the Admissions visitor parking which was by the loading docks — not the most picturesque first impression. I opened the car door and as I made my first step onto campus, I knew I was home.”Chris Hanson ’02
