The Reference Room in Rolvaag Memorial Library is a much-beloved space of mine because it represents the history and the community of the college so well. I’ve spent many a moment using reference books back before databases, dragged classes in to use databases there, I’ve read from one of my books at a gathering there, hosted book discussions there when I was the Boldt Family Distinguished Teaching Chair in the Humanities, spoken there about Gertrude Hilliboe there, and, perhaps most importantly, during one of the library’s January mini-golf tournaments, I hit a hole in one there.
