Ole Reflection: A Phi Beta Kappa Signature at Two Colleges

Slideshow

My Story

I was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 1992. I earned my Ph.D. in economics in 1997 and started as a tenure-track faculty member at Florida International University. Shortly after my arrival, I helped FIU apply for and receive a PBK charter. Hence, my signature is in both St. Olaf’s book as well as in FIU’s.

I have been a professor at Lake Forest College for the past 23 years. Over that time, I have served our local chapter as president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. I have also served on PBK committees, including numerous times on the PBK Senior Thesis Committee. My own senior thesis students have won the PBK senior thesis prize four times.
