From overly involved Ole to a career serving and supporting students

My Story

When I was a student at St. Olaf, I was the overly involved Ole. I worked in Admissions and at the Pause, and was a member of the women’s rugby team, the Student Activities Committee, and the Diversity Celebrations Committee. I was a GLOW! coordinator and worked Reunion Weekends, was a co-chair of the senior giving campaign, worked in the Alumni and Parent Relations Office over the summer, and had a handful of other involvements. However, the most impactful for discovering my vocation was when I helped create the position of Gender and Sexuality Senator in the Student Government Association (SGA) and served as the first Gender and Sexuality Senator. It was the advocacy work of creating the position and then the work of serving and supporting students that inspired my current profession. I went on and got a Master’s in Education Administration — Student Affairs Administration because I wanted to continue my passion for supporting college students. I now work as an advisor at Saint Paul College and get to help students find their community just like I found at St. Olaf.
